Commercially pure, or CP, titanium is unalloyed. Each of the different CP&©|160;grades are classified based on their level of non-titanium elements and the resultant differences in mechanical properties.&©|160;Grade 2 has higher tolerable levels of iron and oxygen than Grade 1 and&©|160;is widely used because it combines excellent formability and moderate strength with superior corrosion resistance. This combination of properties makes CP Grade 2 titanium a candidate for a large variety of chemical and marine as well as aero***ce and medical applications.
